Top 12 Christmas Albums of Nearly All-TimeOne of my favorites is "It's Christmas Time" by City of a Hill. It features great classics done in a modern, yet respectful manner (such as "O Holy Night" by Michael Tait and Leigh Nash and "In The Bleak Midwinter" by the Paul Colman Trio) alongside some of the finest original and modern Christmas songs that I have in my collection ("Bethlehem Town" by Jars of Clay; "Babe in the Straw" by Caedmon's Call; "Child of Love" by Sara Groves)
Another modern classic (at least it should be) is Jewel's "Joy: A Holiday Collection." For my money, Jewel has one of the loveliest voices in pop music and hearing her take on the classics as well as adding some poignant originals is an experience not to be missed.
And the same could be said for Michael Crawford's " A Christmas Album." The original Phantom of the Opera has a voice that send chills up your spine and can make tears appear in the eyes of the most hardened men.
And when you're out shopping for next year's Christmas music, definitely don't overlook Amy Grant's "Home for Christmas," anything by Mannheim Steamroller, and "A Twisted Christmas" by Twisted Sister (gotta laugh, too!). Merry Christmas!
