Thank you for including Erin O'Donnell's album! It is one of those albums that sticks with you for life.

I couldn't agree more with the comments about Grover Levy and Smalltown Poets! Can't wait for the rest of the list!

I'll add Novella's Liquid Earth to the mix. Both of their albums contained some of the best composed, most outstanding rock music, lyrics and vocals.

Also, Jackson Finch's Experience belongs on this list.

Will agree with several of the other posters too:

Brent Bourgeois's Come Join the Living World

Grover Levy's Wrestling Angels

Chasing Furies' self-titled album (Looking fwd. to Sarah's solo CD soon. She's on myspace.com)

It'd be a toss up for me in regards to Eager and Nouveaux. Both released great material.

Well I was going to let it alone to see what came to pass in the subsequent lists, but several people have posted a name that I cannot simply let amble by without comment: Brent Bourgeois. I think Come Join the Living World is without a doubt a contender, certainly topping my “desert island” CD’s list. Personally, I consider his music the definition of worship, the above mentioned album all the more so because of the two that proceed it—his post Bourgeois-Tagg self-titled debut, and Matter of Feel, which were hook-filled, passionate, and yet thematically tense albums chronicling the struggle and strife in Brent’s life (how many people do you know that would write a love song to alcohol?). Come Join The Living World is the perfect cap to this trilogy as Brent comes to terms with himself and his need for a Messiah.

Including Chapman and Duncan were great choices.

Two albums I look forward to seeing on this list are Allies' Virtues and Crumbacher's debut album, Incandescent. Those two albums rocked my world back in the mid-80's. They're long overdue for recognition.

By Christian Music, do you mean Music made by a Christian? or do you really mean in the CCM sort of genre...?

Well, inside the CCM model, an old concept album of the first order, not to be forgotten, is the collaboration with Reba Rambo and Dony McGuire, on "The Lord's Prayer. Teach Us To Pray ". With assorted other heavies, like Andre and Sandra Crouch, Walter and Tramaine Hawkins, B.J. Thomas, the Archers, which won a Grammy Award for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year 1981.

Outside the standard model of CCM, several others come to mind, Such as the extraordinary "Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration", coordinated by Qunicy Jones - and all star voiced; the Gold standard of jazz funk, Seawind, with their albums: "Seawind", "Window of a Child", and "Light the Light"; and let's not forget the brilliant music by Duke Ellington, in his four "Sacred Concerts".

Also the Music of John Tavener is of the first order, and especially his album, "The Protecting Veil"

i think we should get some really great classic christian rock mentioned in the 20 most...etc. or make a new stream. im not sure what was top of ccm back in the day, but really its all underappreciated altogether. to the point that most kids think christian rock started with dc talk. sad. sad.
