Dabel Bros. announce next projectInteresting project to work on, I'm sure. I just hope it goes better than the television series originally affiliated with the books and I hope Koontz figures out how to finish the series before they finish the comic books of the second novel.
Dean has missed 3 or more promised deadlines for book 3. Originally, it was supposed to be out about six months after book 2, but he decided he couldn't work in a co-authoring environment and be happy, so it was delayed to about a year after book 2. Then it was delayed until "December 2006" with no explanation. Then Dean stated that he couldn't imagine finishing the books without factoring in Hurricane Katrina into the New Orleans narrative, so it was delayed until May 2007. Currently, with no further explanation, he is stating "sometime in 2008" for a completion date on book 3.
I guess it could be worse--faithful Koontz fans are still waiting for book 3 of the Chris Snow saga as well. The wait for that one is up to 9 years now, during which time he's published about 20 other books. Incredibly prolific, but I think sometimes he writes himself into corners he can't get out of and so he puts off writing promised sequels indefinitely.
DK's Frankenstein was a fabulous concept, I just hope it doesn't join the Chris Snow series on the unfinished series shelf of the library.
