DVD Sales: 'Standard' Still RulesThere's a joke in the original MEN IN BLACK that always earns a chuckle from me. It's when K is showing J around headquarters, and points out the little thumb-sized disc that will soon replaced CDs. "Looks like I'm gonna have to buy the White album again," says K.
On the shelf behind me sit 70 dvds--not meaning to brag, mind you--and this does not include the multiple discs included in the TV boxed sets. To replace all of these with a hi-def counterpart at the cost of, say, $20 a film, would force me into acts more desperate than when my wife and I were saving for our first apartment. And I will not resort to baloney and cheese again. Blu-Ray just isn't worth it.
