BeowulfGotta disagree here. I thought this movie was one of those rare instances where it takes the source material and greatly improves upon it, turning what was flat and one dimensional into a much more complex work.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the way the film blurred the line between the 'real' story and the story that is told in the poem, a sentiment echoed in the presentation of the film that blurred the line between cartoon and photorealism.
