Paul,
I think I understand. What I was referring to however was not a membership based support such as paid subscribers but rather a type of organized buy-out, such as when employees buy out their own company. These people would not be passive subscribers but rather actual, percentage-based, profit sharing owners such as stock holders. The business model for this is fairly well established.

However, going the church/organizational sponsorship route would be easier to structure. It would rely mostly on a strategy of specifically targeting an identified market which could relate to your project. Likely, established associations of churches and arts organizations would be in the best position to disseminate the information/opportunity to their members.

I still also think the diversity of your membership likely has some more innovative ideas about this, as well... if asked.

Hang in there if you can,
Gary

If someone does keep Infuze going, what would you want to see continue and what should definitely change to get you to frequent the site more?

What's working well and what areas of opportunity does Infuze have?

That's a fair question, however I believe the staff has a lot of that info already collected from their recent surveys prior to the web site's redo (which still apparently needs some considerable tuning up from a design and functional point of view). I recall an effort by INFUZE to solicite input of this type and suspect quite a bit came in.

In order to understand those comments, it might be beneficial to do a good survey of "who" is actually frequenting (or would like to frequent more often) the site. What types of artistic pursuits are they engaged in? Where do their respective interests lie?

For example, visual artists (painters) may not have a real strong interest in films, TV or literary topics. Non-fiction writers may not have any real interest in comics or sci-fi TV and film articles. Video gaming may only appeal to a narrow segment of the existing market waiting to be served. Poets may not enjoy any of the above. Yet, the common thread of these artists is their faith and INFUZE could (and in the past, did upon occasion) provide a worthy "intersecting" of all or most of these creative disciplines. If there was a clear understanding of what INFUZE had to offer these disciplines on a continuous basis, that would not only help these artists to respond but feel that there was a viable place here for their contributions. Diffirent artists/disciplines have different needs and therefore, what they like, dislike, need or want to see here may differ considerably. Perhaps each class of artists should be asked what "they", as a group, would like to see and be willing to support in some manner (other than the paid subscription route since that is likely not a viable option, as discussed before).

Just some thoughts.

OK, here's mine:

I always wanted to see a little more from the Christian perspective. Sometimes I'd think the "Faith" part of "where art and faith intersect" could have a little more of the spotlight and less mainstream.

I like the fact of how they creates an avenue for artists to have their art reviewed and possibly chosen to be posted on the site.
