Cover art for Merciless revealed 2007/12/04 02:46
This thread discusses the Content article: Cover art for Merciless revealed

Love the sword. Didn't actually SEE it at first. But, once I did, the cover took on a whole new light. Looking forward to completing the collection. I stopped reading Relentless about halfway through and promised not to pick it back up until the 3rd book came out. I'm a "watch an entire season/series on DVD so I don't have to wait to know how it all ends" kinda guy. Same goes for what I read, too. I am SO excited.

What, there's a third novel? I had no idea! (Yes, that's a JOKE!)

I'm with emptytombfilms-I didn't see the knife right at first; it took a few seconds. But once it clicked, I thought "Whoa." I like it.

I can't even begin to imagine that kind of self-control. Or torment, depending on your point of view.

Can't wait to read Merciless, Robin!

I noticed the sword right away. The cover is perfect. I love how these books look together on the shelf, all uniform and coherent. I hate it when a series looks different from itself.

I'm hoping the book is actually as big as this graphic makes it look! Robin, can you tell us how many pages to expect?

Can't wait to read it.

I'm told that the dust jacket is going to be something a little different/special this time -- it's going to have sort of a metallic sheen, which this mock-up doesn't really do justice to. So I think when you see the real thing, the sword will jump out at you.

And yes, the object on the cover IS the tip of a sword. (Did you notice how it tears into the paper on the spine? I LOVE that!)

I agree with greycloak about the book covers being uniform; I'm drawn to that kind of attention to detail, too.

Final word count is yet to be determined, but I'll be sure to let you know once I know. The first two were in the 400-page range, and Merciless shouldn't deviate significantly from that.
