One of the newest things I'm personally involved with is a new side project from our friend Andrew Peterson. For those unfamiliar, Andrew has been a solo singer/songwriter for the last several years in the same acoustic vein as Caedmon's Call, Pierce Pettis and others. He's also one of the members of the Square Peg Alliance along with many impressive, artistic credits.
I bring him up now because he's launched a web portal that he's been meaning to for some time now - The Rabbit Room. Andrew first asked me about this last April over an AIM conversation where he was wanting to bounce some ideas off of me. I was fascinated as the vision unfolded for what has now been launched.
Rabbitroom.com is a dream realized of a place where the meaningful and
meaningless can combine all under the banner of arts, faith and
culture. Blog posts and reviews stimulate conversations that will make
you laugh, furrow your brow or nod your head in agreement. Or perhaps I
should just allow Andrew to explain it for himself (from the site's
intro):
"The original Rabbit Room was in the back of an Oxford pub where the
Inklings-- C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Williams and other
friends--met to discuss, among other things, the books they were
writing.
"Our hope is that this Rabbit Room will likewise be a place for people
who get the feeling that there's more truth and beauty in the world
than this world can contain.Windows on that truth and beauty are
opened, sometimes quite by accident, by tale-spinners, world-makers,
and bards.
"We invite you to step in and look outside with us."
So feel free to stop over. I will continue to write here, but I'm
excited to see the conversations develop just across the cyber hall.
-Matt
