I've been thinking over my time here at Infuze and it's been quite a journey really, to watch this site grow and develop and to have my hands dirty from doing so much planting and weeding myself along the way. We've had great conversations with some of the greatest thinkers on the subject of faith and the arts and I think we've also developed our own voice on the subject. It's been a fun time indeed.

I think the most exciting thing has just been the growth of the subject in general. The fact that people are now asking questions about art and excellence that would have never asked or even thought of asking those questions before. And some people who would have thought of asking those questions already feel they are answered and are now asking even deeper questions about the place of Christians in the arts. It's a slow shift, but the shift is taking place

Still, we have a long time to go. We're still content with just a few heroes on the front lines of music and film and television, parading those as our go-to guys and gals. We are still far too insulated for own good and largely still support a bubble mentality that has become our own worst enemy. So even while some people are busy scrubbing away at the blatant capitalistic line of "sacred and secular" for its amazing ability to still guarantee a buck in these days of questionable industry sales, corporate Christianity (and its consumers) are still painting the line black as ever.

So it's a tempered excitement that I feel. One that I hope continues to slowly shift. It's that slow shifting that eventually causes seismic activity...
