Earlier this morning I received news that my book ILLUMINATED had hit the #1 position on Technorati. (Check out the picture evidence!) I was very excited by the report, and it's once again impressed on me how important the internet is to creators today...

The first half of the ILLUMINATED Book Tour took me all the way down to Orlando, FL - home of Mickey Mouse and the biggest collection of amusement rides in the world. After hitting every bookstore in town, it was time to start heading back to Nashville...but not before having a little more excitement along the way...including a restaurant in Atlanta named after yours truly! But more about that later...

I've spent the week with my family down in Destin, Florida. We've had a great time, eating lots of seafood, playing games, swimming, and getting burned at the beach. Let me rephrase: everyone else is pretty much fine...however, I GOT BURNED. Oh my word, my body is bright pink! It might be the scariest thing I've ever seen...short of the time I shaved stripes in the side of my head when I was in junior high.

I can't believe it! For all of you wondering if it's really possible to write a book and get it on shelves, it is! I've been an avid reader since I was a kid. I never dreamed I'd someday have the chance to write a book myself. But now that day is here!

I must confess I'm completely perplexed and curious about JJ Abrams new movie, 11808 - Cloverfield - whatever you want to call it... What's it all about? We've heard it's a monster movie...but that's not much to go on.

What do Britney Spears and Plumb have in common? Right now, they are sharing the top spots on the dance charts. While Britney's latest single - "Gimme More" - sits at #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, Plumb claims the #1 position on the Hot Dance Airplay chart with "In Your Arms". Plumb's song can also be heard - in its "non-dance" form - on the tv trailer for the film "Atonement".
